El final de DACA

On September 5, 2017, the Trump Administration rescinded the DACA program set up by Executive Order of President Obama in June, 2012. DACA allowed some 800,000 young persons that were brought to this country as children to obtain work authorization, while Congress worked its way to a more permanent solution. What will happen now? USCIS will not accept any more initial applications, but will continue to accept renewal applications until October 5, 2017. Current DACA recipients will be allowed to keep their work authorization until they expire. President Trump stated that he is giving Congress six months to legislate some form of protection to Dreamers.
