STAMFORD — A perfect day for the perfect pumpkin.

St. John's Lutheran Church is holding its annual "Pumpkins for a Purpose" sale to benefit Building One Community, Pacific House, and Family Centers Literacy Volunteers Program. On this day, the weather was perfect, the pumpkins were plump and colorful and kids and adults enjoyed the trip. The church, 884 Newfield Road, Stamford, imported more than 2,400 pumpkins for the sale, which will be ongoing seven days a week through Oct. 31.

Thursday, July 3rd: We’ll be open from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM, and all our regular classes will be in session.
Friday, July 4th: We will be closed for the holiday—enjoy your celebrations!
Saturday, July 5th: No classes; we'll operate only as a Cooling Center! The Recreation area will be open to the public from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Sunday, July 6th: Join us again for some fun! The Recreation area will be available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
