STAMFORD — Michael Rinaldi has a useful skill for a school administrator in a diverse city — Spanish rolls right off his tongue.

Rinaldi put his skills to work this week at Building One Community, the Stamford nonprofit for immigrants, where he introduced himself as Westhill High School’s new principal and took questions from parents ahead of the school year beginning next week.

Rinaldi, the former assistant principal at Rippowam Middle School, assumed the role at Westhill last month. Before the school year begins Aug. 31, he’s made it his mission to meet with diverse groups of parents, such as the 50 who attended the meeting Tuesday at Building One Community. The previous night he spoke at Rose of Sharon Ministries.
